Museum of Bath at Work 2026

Exhibitions include a complete reconstruction of a Victorian engineering and soft drinks making factory, an Edwardian ironmongers, a cabinet maker’s workshop, a Bath Stone mine and the famous Horstmann car of 1914. A wide-ranging survey of Bath’s working life, with fascinating displays about different industries, trades and businesses.

The city’s local history museum telling the tale of 2,000 years of the city’s development. The Museum holds a unique collection of books, film, photographs, documents, sound recordings and objects relating to the commercial development of the city. These include over 40,000 glass plate negatives from the local engineering firm Stothert & Pitt.
