Dawe’s Twine Works (2025)
Dating from 1895, this is believed to be the only surviving rural twineworks with its original Victorian twine-making machinery in place. First impressions are dominated by the main ‘walk’ – a two storey structure more than 100m long. New visitor centre.

The Coker Rope & Sail Trust is preserving and restoring the works, and records and celebrates the flax and hemp based industries (twine, rope and sailcloth) which were once dominant in south Somerset and west Dorset.
