Alderney Railway 2025
Alderney
The earliest record of the mill is circa 1236, and is one of the oldest surviving sites in the Bonne Terre Valley on Alderney. The present ruins are the remains of a mill rebuilt in 1796, with an impressive 17ft (5m) waterwheel. The mill and adjoining lands were given to the Alderney Society who continue to renovate and preserve this vital part of Alderney's history.
Access at all times. Visit website for more details.
There are excellent information boards about the ongoing work at the watermill and is well worth a visit any time of the day.
