The museum is situated in a Grade II Listed 17th century wool merchant’s house; the collection tells the fascinating story of the Stroud District’s rich and diverse history. With over 4,000 objects on display, including boats and trains, industry and invention, and even one of the world’s first lawnmowers, along with dinosaur bones and historical paintings.

There is something to offer visitors of all ages where displays are as far as possible, with everyone in mind. Many of the rooms contain interactives and toys, and some even sport peep holes into the cabinets at a child friendly height!
