Swannington Incline 2024

Part of the Leicester & Swannington Railway, one of England's first railways, built to carry coal by Robert Stephenson. An engine house at the top contained an engine capable of pulling three trucks of coal up the steep slope. Trackbed with some relaid track at the top. Engine house base now contains parts of the winding gear.
