Sarehole Mill 2024
Late 18th century watermill. Once leased by Matthew Boulton for metal working, it is now a corn mill and milling takes place most Sundays. The mill has a stationary steam engine but this is not in working order. As a childhood haunt of JRR Tolkien, Sarehole and its surroundings inspired parts of 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings'.

Grounds, shop, tea room Wed-Sun 1100-1600. Mill tours: Fri 1330, Sat 1130 & 1330, Sun 1330. Pre-booked guided tours only. Also 1st Sat in month 1100-1600 for exploring the mill without a guided tour. Visit website for more details and advance booking.
