North Dorset Railway – Shillingstone 2024

The last surviving station building of the Dorset Central Railway, opened in 1863, unique, both historically and architecturally. It is the only preserved Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway station in Dorset. Overlooked by the ancient hill-fort of Hambledon Hill, with the River Stour meandering by in the foreground, Shillingstone was probably the most picturesque station on the former Somerset and Dorset Railway.
