An impressively detailed collection showing the history of aviation in the Isle of Man plus the Island's surprisingly heavy involvement in both world wars. Exhibits include an Embraer Bandeirante passenger plane, Morris Commercial C9B self-propelled Bofors gun, Roll-Royce Merlin engine, uniforms and militaria.

It tells two exciting stories – the aviation heritage of the Isle of Man from the earliest days of flight, and the Isle of Man and its people at war.

With displays that include: The Island's three military airfields – RAF Jurby, RAF Andreas and Royal Naval Air Station Ronaldsway where thousands of Allied aircrew trained during World War Two.

Relics of some of the many wartime aircraft crashes in and around the Island, with stories of the people involved.

Allied and captured enemy militaria. The history of civil flying – air races, pleasure flights and commercial aviation.

Women at war – uniforms and clothing of women in the forces and at home.

The Home Front – The Isle of Man Home Guard and Air Raid Precautions.

A large part of the museum is dedicated to the 15th Light Anti-aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery – the Island's own regiment which saw service throughout World War Two.

The museum does not cover just military history; a part of it is devoted to civil aviation in general, and is a fascinating story of local achievement in terms of both people and organisations.

Many visitors compare the museum to Dr Who's "Tardis" because such a huge amount is packed in. The wide variety of uniforms, weapons, models and memorabilia make this a fascinating and memorable visit for everyone.
