Historic Stable Block, Carriage House & Shire Horse Society Centre 2025

The stables have been in constant use since 1780 and part of the famous racing tradition at Sledmere, with thousands of thoroughbred horses bred here over the last 200 years. The tack room and 'lads' room are restored to their former glory with the stable block home to the Sledmere Shires. The carriage house is home to many different vehicles, including an exercise cart for day to day use, a passenger dray and a Wolds Wagon, owned by the Wagoners museum.
