Bingley Five Rise Locks 2025

They are one of the most awesome features on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and are the steepest staircase locks on the longest canal in the country. That is why it is probably known as one of the seven wonders of the waterways. Bingley actually boasts two sets of locks – the larger lock flight features five locks and some stunning views of the Aire Valley. Also a little further down the towpath are three more locks.
