Discover the stories from the Iron Age to the mid-twentieth century at this independent open-air museum in the Buckinghamshire countryside. Featuring over 30 rescued buildings from around the Chilterns, we hold a number of living history events throughout the year and are home to costumed interpreters and heritage crafts-people, bringing history to life.

Visit the working Victorian blacksmith's forge, take a step into the 1950s in our prefab, or spend time in the cottage gardens of our 18th century and Victorian cottages. Say hello to the Oxford Down sheep on the heritage farm, or have a wander through the woodlands.
