Steaming Through Life – Memories of a Mainline Fireman

£8.99

Paul Evans tracks his youth from humble beginnings in Mid Wales to life in London and later nearer home in Shrewsbury during the 1950s when he joined the railways, first as a lamp room boy at his local station before heading to Paddington to train as a fireman and his adventures there before relocating to Shrewsbury which took him onto express trains. The book is an easy read and is a great tale of live on British Railways in the 1950s. No illustrations.
