Whitehead Railway Museum

The museum has five galleries which combines the past with the present, where you can get really close up to the historic steam locomotives and carriages of the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland's collection – with a chance to step aboard the footplate of an 1879-built steam engine.

The museum lets you rub shoulders with the giants of steam. You can hear how the railways revolutionised society, watch and hear restoration in progress and step on board several historic carriages and locomotives from the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland’s extensive collection.
