The Heritage Centre is dedicated to gardening alongside British art, craft, food and education. The Museum of Gardening is devoted to vintage lawnmowers and old tools to do with the upkeep of gardening. The charity is dedicated to Edwin Beard Budding, a much underrated inventor and engineer who invented the lawnmower in 1830.
