Royal Deeside Railway 2025

Trains run along a one mile line, part of the old Royal Deeside Railway route from Aberdeen to Ballater. Mainly diesel services, sometimes steam in the summer. Also a Battery Electric Railcar (unique within BR). Diesel "Driver for a Fiver" experiences are offered.

The railway is a standard gauge steam and diesel hauled heritage railway, in a beautiful setting running alongside the River Dee.  At the Milton of Crathes, there is an award-winning Victorian station with a railway carriage tearoom, all with views of the surrounding hills.
