Old Royal Station 2026

This stunning and historic building houses the Aberdeenshire Council Library and Rothesay Rooms – incorporating the Royal Deeside Café. Also home to a replica Royal Carriage, in position on the rail tracks, which Queen Victoria would have used to travel on part of her journey to Balmoral. Visitors are able to view a range of storyboards detailing the link between the royal family and the building.

The old station building has a long and eventful history that continues to stand at the heart of this Deeside village more than 40 years after the last passenger train pulled out on 28th February 1966.
