Black Mountain Quarries 2025
Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin
The valley of the Afon Twrch was home to industry in times past. Follow the old tramway to see an impressive brick chimney which is virtually all that remains of Henllys Colliery. Nearby are a bank of four massive limekilns with Interpretive panel installed. A tramway led northwards up to Cefn Carn Fadog from where the limestone was quarried.
