Heatherslaw Corn Mill 2026

On the banks of the River Till is the only working watermill in Northumberland. Powered by a 16ft waterwheel, with history of over 700 years of milling, including three different pairs of millstones, still makes high quality, stoneground wholemeal flour from wheat grown locally.

Explore this historic building and watch the milling process from beginning to end. On your visit you can learn how millers produce flour from wheat grown in the local surrounding fields, just as they have done here for centuries.

Please be aware that if the river is running too high, or too low, the waterwheel cannot operate. There is still plenty to see and do on a visit.
