Museum on a former USAAF WW2 airfield. There were various fighter and bomber groups stationed at Boxted between 1943-45. Exhibits include the largest surviving piece of a Martin B-26 Marauder in the UK.

The airfield was then handed over to the RAF in November 1945 who used it for temporary operations of several different Squadrons. The aircraft included Night Fighter Mosquitoes, Spitfires, Meteors, Vampires. The airfield finally closed in late 1947.
