Bestwood Winding Engine House 2024
It is the last remaining part of a vanished colliery and a relic of Victorian industrial engineering, with its restored winding house and headgear that still contains its 1876 steam engine, now turned by electric motor. It is the only vertical winding engine in England in its original location.
