Vale & Downland Museum – Wantage 2025

Among the different galleries to explore include industries related to tanning, sackcloth and rope-making, the history of Wantage Engineering and about the agricultural revolution in the Vale and the influence of Lord Wantage and his ‘Model Village’ on the Lockinge Estate. As well as the Wantage Tramway being first steam-powered passenger tramway in the UK to run alongside a public road.
