South Wales Miners’ Museum 2025

The museum portrays the working life of a miner and the hardship that both adults and children had to endure. Outdoor exhibits include a working blacksmith's forge, steam locomotive, winding engine and lamp room.

The museum officially opened in 1976 and was the first mining museum in Wales. It is located within the beautiful Afan Valley six miles from the town of Port Talbot and is one of the many attractions to be found within the Afan Forest Park.
