Despite its name it was built in England in what had been the stables of Orleans House, Twickenham, once the home of the Duke of Orleans; it is believed to be the only two-cylinder New Orleans in existence. In 1945 it still retained its original reg. No.AX 74. The design was based on a Belgian car called the Vivanus, being a very simple car.
Among the motorcycle collection is a unique 1921/2 Vauxhall 950cc motorcycle, now the only one in the world. It is one of two experimental machines built by the then Vauxhall Motors at Luton. This machine is Number Two, the Number One is known to have been broken up for scrap by car breakers West’s of Denmark Street, Oxford sometime in 1935/6.
Sir Clive Edwards left this collection in Trust which can be viewed when you visit the gardens.
The Milntown Estate is set in the beautiful parish of Lezayre, Milntown is the Island’s only Historic Estate and boasts 15 acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands which surround the magnificent mansion and café at its heart.
New projects for 2026 include the development of the Mill building to showcase the Island’s only working watermill and numerous projects planned in the gardens.
