Paddle Steamer – Maid of the Loch

Last of the Loch Lomond paddle steamers, and last paddler to be built for the railways. Saw service from 1953 until 1981. At Balloch Pier next to Balloch Steam Shipway with its original 1902 winding gear. A Public Appeal has been launched to raise the £3.3M to return her to steam operation for 2018.

Full Description

Admission Free. Tea room sells hot & cold snacks, homebaking. Souvenir shop. Volunteers working every Saturday on repairs and maintenance, but most of the ship and engines are available to view.
