Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum

The only complete steam driven brickworks in the UK, built at the end of the 19th century. It was never updated and has miraculously survived to become a fascinating example of early industrialisation.

Full Description

There is so much to do on a visit to the Brickworks. We have various activities for all age groups. You can visit on a museum day or come to one of our big events; these happen once a month.

For children there are activites around the musuem and they can even have a go at making their own brick whilst getting their hands dirty! Outside, we have a picnic area and playground plus a cafe serving light refreshments when the museum is open.

At our big events we steam the engines up and get the machines working; on these event days our partners on site run their narrow and miniature gauge passenger tarins and there are often traction engines steamed up....plus we have a large exhibition area where we run craft markets, wedding fairs and hold live performances.

Check our website for our admission prices and full details of all our events.
