Located in the heart of the Thomas Telford designed Pulteneytown, the premises were once home to a number of businesses and families in Bank Row. The somewhat rambling building is something of an 'Aladdin's Cave'.

The museum contains a number of fully furnished household rooms portraying past life and times. Each room contains a vast array of household items and furnishings, ranging from a traditional box bed to authentic Caithness chairs. Giving the chance to arouse nostalgic memories in the older visitors and a host of questions from the lips of the young. With additional cabinet displays illustrating aspects of Edwardian and Victorian clothing, Militaria from the 19th century to WW2 and Wick’s musical heritage.
