Morwellham Quay


Unique open air museum based on the ‘Greatest Copper Port in Queen Victoria’s Empire’. A tramway ride along the Devon bank of the river Tamar and then on into an historic copper mine with illuminated display of mining techniques is one of the many attractions. Three indoor museums and outdoor exhibits cover a thousand years of history.

Daily Mar-Oct 1000-1700, Nov-Feb closes 1600. (Closed Christmas & Boxing Day.)

It is an award-winning attraction which forms part of a World Heritage site, featuring historic port, village, copper mine and railway just four miles west of Tavistock and bordering the beautiful River Tamar.
