Grantown East: Highland Heritage & Cultural Centre

Learn about the history of the railway and its importance to the community from the heritage displays of this beautifully renovated railway station. It also has a number of short videos about the Speyside Line, the history of the Kilt, an introduction to Highland Games, the making of Grantown East Tartan, Kilt Making and the history of the Clydesdale horse.

Grantown East’s journey has gone full circle from a busy railway station connecting people to the outside world to an abandoned ruin. Years later following blood, sweat and tears, the creation of Grantown East: Highland Heritage and Cultural Centre has now become a fantastic place for people to visit, explore and enjoy.
