Crossness Pumping Station

Sir Joseph Bazalgette’s original 1865 (Grade One Listed) sewage pumping station, with four giant rotative beam engines (one in steam) and remarkable ornamental ironwork. The engines are 'Prince Consort', 'Victoria', 'Albert Edward' and 'Alexandra'. 'Prince Consort' was last run in the 1950s and has been fully restored. 'Victoria' is now under restoration.
