Coronavirus
Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak, many attractions are closed and event organisers are cancelling or postponing their events. While we will try to update the information on this site as much as possible, we cannot guarantee to have all the information we would like. Therefore we urge you to check the latest information on the attraction or event’s website or Facebook pages, and to contact them before travelling to avoid disappointment.
Please note: England is currently in a lockdown until at least 2nd December so no events will take place until after that date.
Barrow Hill Roundhouse (2021)
The last surviving railway roundhouse in the United Kingdom with an operational turntable. Built in 1870, it was threatened with demolition in 1991 when the site was closed by British Rail. It was saved by a group of dedicated volunteers who have transformed it into a unique railway museum and events venue. 2020 is the Roundhouse's 150th birthday.
